You asked for it.

So you want to know a little about me. Here's what I can tell you:
  • I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I like it here. I've visited lots of other cities, but I think Grand Rapids is a pretty cool place to live. Having been here all my life I've seen it grow and change, mostly for the better.
  • I've worked with radio and television markets all across the country for the last ten plus years. I don't deal with the on-air personalities, just the business offices. I get to talk to a lot of people in different cities, which comes in handy when I take a trip somewhere.
  • I have a husband and two beagles (a boy and a girl). Yes, it's just like having three children. However, I wouldn't trade any of them for anything! 
  • My family is small. My mom has two siblings, and my dad has one. I have a sister and four cousins. I kind of like it that way, though; my husband has four siblings, and his dad is one of something like six kids. I can't even begin to remember all the cousins. It gets confusing sometimes, and get-togethers are always loud and crowded. I guess because I didn't grow up with that, I prefer my quiet little family functions.
  • I read a lot of non-fiction books and surf the internet all the time, which is probably why I've worn corrective lenses for most of my life.
  • I'm a pretty good cook. I enjoy trying new recipes or just pulling something out of my hat. It usually works out pretty well.
  • I sew. I wish I had more time to sew, because I really enjoy it. I especially like making formal gowns.
  • I like shoes. A lot. I don't know how many pairs I have, but if you ask my husband he'll tell you "too many." Most of them are black, and heels.
  • I'm fascinated by the first half of the 20th century, right about up to the 1960s. Mostly 1920-1950, and especially the WWII years. I could have done without the 1970s, but unfortunately that's one of the decades I have the most memories of.
  • I like cars, airplanes, and trains. Luckily, my dad likes go to the drags at Martin and to the Gilmore Car Musuem with me; I work with a pilot; and my husband used to drive for CSX. 
  • I have my motorcycle endorsement, but no bike...yet.
